What would you say is the tastiest and most scrumptious candy?

We would have to say as the owners of High Mountain Candy that the tastiest and most scrumptious candy is The Scat Bar.  Now you’re probably thinking “Isn’t that another name for number two?”  Why yes, yes it is.  But you see we use it as a way to describe our product as delicious, and a unique one-of-a-kind wonder.

What makes High Mountain candy so special?

Our candy is special because we use names that no one would dare use such as The Scat Bar; we take our risks of going up and down this 6680 foot mountain.  Our candy is homemade without any use of machinery, we use no “fake ingredients”, and we try to make it the best high altitude candy possible.

How did High Mountain candy company get its’ name?

High Mountain Candy Company got its name by Mt. Mammy.  This mountain is the most imaginative place around.  Our founder Peter Lúmbur was roaming around this mountainous area when he came upon the most exquisitely beautiful peak he ever saw in his lifetime while looking up to the sky after he stepped in some scat.  Then he climbed to the peak and thought of his mother who he always called Mammy and decided to name the peak after her.

Why does High Mountain Candy have two versions of The Mitchell?

Well, we have the version of The Mitchell with the fine coconut sprinkles because it represents the snow on the peak of the mountain.  Then, we remembered that Peter Lúmbur was allergic to coconut.  Since we don’t use fake ingredients we use real coconut, not some artificially flavored thing.  So we made the same candy using the same ingredients with just one thing missing.  The coconut sprinkles so that if Peter Lúmbur were still alive he’d be able to enjoy this scrumptious, delicious, mountain candy.

Where did the inspiration for the Square dancer come from?

The inspiration came from our daily lives.  You see Peter Lúmbur loved music and dance.  He thought that since he wanted to combine eight flavors not into one piece but to make separate pieces next to each other, he did exactly that and when the product came out it was in two rows of four.  Since the pieces were squares and the company is located in Tennessee, Peter named the candy Square dancer.
